Authorities Apprehend Six Suspects In Adamawa For Alleged Tricycle Theft

In a significant breakthrough against tricycle theft, Adamawa State Police Command operatives have arrested six individuals suspected of receiving stolen tricycles. The arrests, disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday, mark a crucial step in the fight against this illicit activity.

According to the statement signed by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the apprehensions took place on March 20, 2024. Officers attached to SCID Yola spearheaded the operation leading to the arrests.

The suspects, identified as Idi Abdullahi (20), Mohammad Tukur (21), Umar Hassan (33), Umar Yusha’u (26), Usman Ladan (22), and Abubakar Idrisa (23), hail from various areas including Rumde Baru, Jimeta, Yola North, Rimergo in Borno State, and Mubi South in Adamawa State.

After thorough investigations, the primary suspects were promptly charged and remanded in a correctional center pending further inquiries, as stated by the police.

CP Dankombo Morris Falling, the State Commissioner of Police, applauded the efforts of the Anti-Shilla Squad for their dedication in apprehending the suspects. He urged the public to maintain vigilance and continue collaborating with law enforcement to purge communities of criminal activities.
