Buhari’s Former Minister Encourages Tinubu To Extend Promising Opportunities To Bandits....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Adebayo Shittu, a former Minister of Communication, has advocated for the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to engage in negotiations with bandits and offer them promising futures. He emphasized the potential benefits of retaining these individuals, many of whom he described as intelligent and able-bodied. Shittu expressed his belief that employing non-kinetic approaches in dealing with banditry could yield positive outcomes.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Shittu highlighted the significant number of out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria as a contributing factor to the proliferation of banditry in the country, referring to it as a “production factory for banditry.”

Shittu’s stance aligns with similar calls from controversial Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi, who has also urged the Federal Government to engage in negotiations with bandits. Gumi specifically advised against following the example set by former President Muhammadu Buhari, who chose not to negotiate with bandits during his tenure.
