The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully reclaimed N7.8 million from the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) as part of recovered stolen funds.
Dr. Raymond Asemakaha Jr., the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIPC, made this revelation during a meeting held at the BIPC office in Makurdi on Tuesday.
Asemakaha confirmed the receipt of a draft cheque representing the recovered sum, emphasizing that additional efforts are underway to retrieve more misappropriated funds.
He hailed the retrieval of funds as a significant stride in enhancing the credibility of the organization and fostering a culture of transparency, particularly under the stewardship of His Excellency Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia.
The Managing Director applauded the EFCC for its proactive stance, which demonstrates its effectiveness in combatting the illicit activities of corrupt individuals.
