NNPC Rejects Allegations Of Manipulating Fuel Pump Prices....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has refuted claims suggesting a reduction in the pump prices of petrol and diesel.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson of NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, the company labeled these claims as false and urged the public to disregard them.

Reports circulating on social media platforms on Tuesday and Wednesday had suggested that NNPCL had lowered the pump price of petrol below N600 and diesel below N900.

However, in response to these rumors, NNPCL clarified: “The NNPC Limited wishes to clarify rumours suggesting a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit and Automotive Gas Oil at its retail stations nationwide. The company asserts that these reports are false and urges Nigerians to disregard them entirely. NNPC Ltd reaffirms its commitment to sustaining the current sufficiency in petroleum products supply across all its retail stations in the country.”

It’s worth noting that the pump price of petrol had surged following the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023, rising to over N600 from about N200 during the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

This clarification from NNPCL comes amidst ongoing concerns about fluctuating fuel prices in the country.
