The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation following an incident in which ten-year-old Israel Ogunleye was reportedly strangled by another ten-year-old, Evbota Ezekiel, in the Ejigbo area on March 28.
According to authorities, the father of the deceased informed them that his son had been playing football with some boys at Oluwole Street, Powerline in Ejigbo, where his mother’s shop is located. Allegedly, an argument erupted among the boys, during which Ezekiel purportedly grasped Ogunleye by the neck and choked him to death.
Law enforcement promptly responded to the scene, discovering the boy’s lifeless body. He was swiftly transported to General Hospital Isolo, where medical professionals confirmed his passing upon arrival. Subsequently, the body was transferred to the mortuary for further examination through a post-mortem.
