Suspected Herdsmen Kill Civil Servant In Edo
Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have reportedly taken the life of a civil servant and farmer named Inofomoh Gabriel in Edo State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The tragic incident occurred in the Jattu community, which serves as the headquarters of the Uzairue clan in the Etsako West Local Government area of Edo State.
According to reports from Punch, Gabriel, who was employed at Auchi Polytechnic, ventured to his farm on Wednesday, March 27, but failed to return home.
A community source revealed that concern arose when Gabriel did not return home, prompting a search team to scour the surrounding bushlands. Tragically, his lifeless body was discovered on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
“The deceased went to the farm on Wednesday and never came back. A search party started combing the bush on Thursday and his corpse was eventually found on Saturday in the bush with machete cuts all over his body,” the source disclosed.
“We are suspecting herders who have been kidnapping farmers in the area and in some cases killed some of their victims,” the source added.
The matter has been reported to the Jattu Police Division, although an official from the station, while confirming the incident, stated that they were not authorized to provide further details.
