Kaduna Govt Reacts To El-Rufai Son’s Attack On Governor Sani....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Kaduna State Government has opted not to engage with Bashir El-Rufai’s recent critique of Governor Uba Sani. This decision comes after Governor Sani expressed concerns about the significant debt inherited from the previous administration, as reported by Naija News during a town hall meeting in Kaduna.
Governor Sani highlighted the daunting financial challenges faced by the state, citing a debt of $587 million (N85 billion) and 115 contractual obligations, which have severely constrained the state’s ability to meet its financial obligations, including the payment of workers’ salaries.
In response, Bashir El-Rufai took to social media to accuse Governor Sani of inflating contracts and engaging in forex speculation, while dismissing the debt burden as an excuse for poor performance. El-Rufai also criticized Sani for allegedly neglecting his duties by frequently residing in Abuja and surrounding himself with incompetent aides chosen for political reasons.
However, the governor’s spokesperson, Mohammed Shehu, revealed to The Punch that the state government would not dignify Bashir El-Rufai’s remarks with a response. Shehu emphasized that Governor Sani had accurately portrayed the state’s financial situation and reiterated the enormity of the challenges facing the government.
Shehu stated, “The task ahead of us is enormous, and we won’t trade that for trivialities. His Excellency Senator Uba Sani has categorically stated the true financial status of the state.
