Joyous Occasion: Kogi Community Celebrates As Oba’s Wife Welcomes Triplets After 17-Year Wait

Apata Community in Oworo District, Lokoja Local Government Area, Kogi State, erupted into jubilation on Monday as Olori Teniola-Faith, the wife of the traditional monarch, gave birth to triplets after 17 years of hopeful anticipation. The joyful event took place in the early hours of Monday at the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, Kogi.

Reports indicated that the Palace of Olu of Apata, Oba Fredrick Balogun, resonated with songs of praise and spirited dances as the community joined in celebrating the arrival of the triplets with the royal family.

In an interview with reporters, the Oba expressed profound excitement, affirming that the faithfulness of God was evident in their family’s journey and that the birth of the triplets heralded a year of abundant blessings for the community, Kogi, and Nigeria at large.

The traditional ruler extended his gratitude to family members, friends, the Apata community, and the hospital management for their unwavering support throughout.

“This is a day of immense joy and gratitude as we receive these precious gifts from the Almighty after years of waiting and trusting in Him,” the Oba remarked. “Words fail to express our gratitude for what God has done for our royal family. It’s no wonder that people have come together to celebrate with us.”

He continued, “Another remarkable and heartening aspect of God’s blessing is that both the queen and the triplets are in good health.”

Ayodele Rufus-Balogun, the Elsho of Apata, described the birth of the triplets as a “significant blessing” to the Apata community, Oworo district, and Kogi as a whole.

“The sheer jubilation among our people over the birth of these triplets to our Oba speaks volumes. We are truly thankful to God,” Rufus-Balogun remarked.
