Retired Justice Ahmad Olanrewaju Belgore of the Court of Appeal has passed away, according to an announcement made by Kamaldeen Gambari, Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ilorin Branch, Kwara State, on Tuesday.
Gambari shared the news of Belgore’s demise in a social media post, as reported by Leadership Newspaper. However, PUNCH Online could not verify the specific post referred to by the newspaper.
Belgore retired from his position as a Justice of the Court of Appeal on April 18, 2023, upon reaching the age of 70.
In a message of condolence, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, described Belgore’s death as a significant loss to the Ilorin Emirate and the nation as a whole.
