Veteran Nollywood actor, Jerry Amilo, has issued an apology to fans who criticized his recent social media post, where he shared a video featuring the deceased body of his colleague, Junior Pope. The video depicted the lifeless form of the actor lying in a hospital, a move that drew considerable condemnation from audiences who found it insensitive.

Expressing regret over the controversy, Amilo clarified that his intention was never to seek attention or publicity through the post. He acknowledged the backlash and offered his sincere apology for any offense caused.

Meanwhile, movie producer Stanley Nwoke has called for the immediate arrest of his colleague, Adamma Luke, in connection with the tragic death of Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, famously known as Junior Pope. The actor, aged 39, along with others, drowned in the Delta State segment of River Niger while returning from a movie shoot in a boat.

Junior Pope’s demise occurred shortly after leaving the set of the film “The Other Side Of Life,” produced by Adamma Luke. Reacting to the incident on Instagram, Nwoke demanded the arrest of both the producer and the boat driver, emphasizing the need for accountability in such situations.

Nwoke criticized the practices within the Nollywood industry, condemning the lack of financial investment in cast and crew. He lamented the absence of camaraderie and empathy among industry professionals, highlighting issues such as underpayment and the swift blacklisting of dissenting voices on movie sets.
