The Plateau State Police Command announced on Thursday the apprehension of two suspects involved in armed robbery. The arrest was accompanied by the recovery of arms, ammunition, and a motorcycle, as revealed by DSP Alfred Alabo, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, in Jos, the State Capital.

Alabo credited the success to the cooperation and support of the public, particularly the residents of Plateau, who provided timely and accurate information to the police. He conveyed Commissioner of Police Hassan Yabanet’s appreciation for the residents’ unwavering support, which contributed to the recent arrest in Mavo Community, Wase LGA.

According to Alabo, acting on credible intelligence on April 10, 2024, at 16:30 hours, regarding a robbery at Angwan Sakuwa-Mavo, where a man was robbed of his motorcycle at home, police detectives from Wase Division, in collaboration with local security groups, swiftly apprehended Musa Adamu and Sale Joga, both residents of Mavo community.

Among the exhibits recovered was an AK-47 rifle with 7.62mm ammunition. Alabo noted that the investigation is ongoing, and once completed, the suspects will face charges in court.

The Commissioner of Police issued a stern warning to criminals, urging them to repent or leave the state, emphasizing that the police will continue their aggressive crackdown on criminal activities.
