Two individuals, Christopher Ogunmodede and Musa Abdullahi, stood trial before the Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan on Friday, accused of pilfering 9 liters of diesel valued at N12,600.
The defendants, whose residences remain undisclosed, face charges of conspiracy and theft but have pleaded not guilty.
According to Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, the incident allegedly occurred on April 6 around 9:00 pm at First Technical University, Ibadan, where the defendants purportedly conspired to steal diesel belonging to the institution. These actions are said to be in violation of sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Mrs. Adebola Adeola granted each defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 along with one surety each. The case has been adjourned until June 7 for further proceedings.
