Reaction From Sunday Igboho, Akintoye Following Agitators’ Intrusion At Oyo State Secretariat....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Following the intrusion of suspected Yoruba Nation agitators at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, and Professor Banji Akintoye have distanced themselves from the incident.

The disruption, which necessitated intervention from the State Command police and Division 2 army personnel, saw flags being hoisted by the agitators before order was restored.

In response, Igboho, speaking through his media aide Olayemi Koiki on Facebook Live, expressed ignorance about the invasion. He emphasized that Yoruba Nation activities are typically pre-announced and disassociated himself from those involved, asserting they do not represent the Yoruba Nation cause.

Similarly, Akintoye alleged the involvement of another separatist leader, Abiola Onitiri, in the Oyo state incident. He clarified that he had spoken with Igboho and denounced the disruption, attributing it to individuals sent to sabotage the Yoruba self-determination struggle, purportedly under the influence of Onitiri.

Both Igboho and Akintoye emphasized that such actions were not in line with the peaceful approach of the Yoruba Nation movement, affirming their commitment to non-violent advocacy for self-determination.

This incident underscores the complexities and diversities within the Yoruba separatist movements, with various factions and leaders holding differing approaches and perspectives.
