In a recent operation at Jabi Park in Abuja, NDLEA operatives, in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy, made significant arrests linked to counterfeit cash and drug trafficking. Among the apprehended were Favour Peter, an eight-month pregnant woman, alongside Esther Adukwu and Ochigbo Michael. This operation stemmed from initial discoveries in Lokoja, Kogi State, further underscoring NDLEA’s commitment to combating illegal activities nationwide.
Additionally, Aliyu Lawal was apprehended with 310kg of cannabis, further demonstrating the agency’s proactive stance against drug trafficking. The crackdown extended along the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway, resulting in the seizure of 98kg of cannabis from Jama Obodo, 44.
In Cross River State, Theodora Ita, a 40-year-old widow, was arrested for producing a dangerous new substance called ‘Combine,’ composed of cannabis and opioids soaked in gin. Significant drug seizures were also reported in Kano, Imo, Ekiti, Ogun, and Ondo states, reflecting NDLEA’s widespread efforts to dismantle trafficking networks and apprehend offenders.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), NDLEA Chairman/CEO, commended the agency’s officers for their dedication and effectiveness. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in combating illicit operations.
