Wike Unveils Anticipated Date For Tinubu To Inaugurate Vice President’s Official Residence....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, reaffirms President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to commissioning the Vice President’s residence by May 29. Wike expressed this during his inspection of the ongoing construction by Julius Berger in Abuja over the weekend.

Initially approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in 2010 at N7 billion, the project for a new Vice President’s residence was abandoned by the previous administration. The current government resumed the project, revising the contract to N15 billion.

Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress, highlighting the FCT’s significant infrastructural developments under Tinubu’s “renewed hope” agenda. He announced plans to inaugurate various projects in celebration of Tinubu’s first year in office, aiming to restore Nigerians’ confidence in the government.

Emphasizing the tangible results of the administration’s efforts, Wike urged transparency in communicating achievements to the public. He underscored the transformation of the FCT’s landscape as a notable achievement.

The purpose of Wike’s visit was to assess the readiness of the residence for inauguration in May and ensure adequate security measures. He confirmed ongoing work to ensure top-notch quality, security, and accessibility.

Regarding the residence’s location, Wike clarified that the Federal Government determined its site, considering security and accessibility. The FCT Administration sought advice from the Office of the National Security Adviser, which assessed and provided inputs on the location.

Wike’s remarks reflect the government’s commitment to delivering essential infrastructure and fostering public trust.
