Gunmen Abduct Two FRSC Personnel In Ebonyi
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ebonyi State has officially verified the abduction of two of its personnel by gunmen along the Abakaliki-Enugu federal highway. The region has witnessed a surge in insecurity, making commuting perilous for residents.Notably, the Nkalagu (Ebonyi) and Idodo (Enugu) sections of the road have experienced a spike in abductions, amplifying concerns for travelers’ safety. Henry Igwe, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Ebonyi, disclosed that the two personnel were taken on March 8 after completing their duties at the Nkalagu office and embarking on their journey back to Enugu.According to Igwe, the families of the abducted personnel reported their disappearance after they failed to return home, prompting negotiations with the kidnappers for their release. FRSC authorities are actively involved in supporting the families during this distressing period, while efforts to ensure the safe return of the abducted personnel remain ongoing.
