An elderly man, Alhaji Muftau Mohammed, from Gbeganu Area in Minna, Niger State, tragically collapsed and died at Morris Police Division while attempting to secure the release of his two sons, Mubarak Ahmed and Yusuf Mohammed, who were detained by the police.According to reports by Daily Trust, the sons, Mubarak and Yusuf, were taken into custody by the police around 11 pm on Wednesday while they were sleeping outside their house due to the intense heat.Yusuf recounted the events, stating that they were lying down in front of their house when police patrol vans approached them. The police questioned them and subsequently took them to the station.Tragically, Alhaji Mohammed, who suffered from high blood pressure and often experienced severe headaches, collapsed at the station while seeking help for his condition. Despite efforts to transport him to the hospital, he passed away before medical assistance could be provided.Witnesses, including neighbors and family members, expressed shock and grief at the sudden loss. Alhaji Mohammed’s wife, who accompanied him to the station, collapsed upon hearing the news of her husband’s passing.
