LAUTECH Denies Affiliation With Victim In Recent Police Shooting Incident....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso has stated that an individual, purportedly a student, who was tragically killed by a police officer, is not affiliated with the university.

Mr. Lekan Fadeyi, the Public Relations Officer of the university, affirmed this position during an interview with DAILY POST on Tuesday evening.

Earlier reports from DAILY POST highlighted an incident where a student was fatally shot by a police officer, with two others sustaining injuries.

In response, Fadeyi clarified that the incident did not transpire within the university premises. He explained, “According to the information available to us, the incident occurred around 2 am, outside the institution, in a nightclub. LAUTECH does not have any club or hotel facilities.”

He further elaborated, “The altercation took place among individuals, and the deceased individual was not enrolled at our university. Therefore, the incident is entirely unrelated to LAUTECH and has no connection to our ongoing convocation.”

Fadeyi concluded by stating, “Reports from the town indicate that a dispute unfolded at a nightclub, situated far from the university campus, resulting in the tragic loss of life.”

This clarification aims to dispel any misconceptions regarding the involvement of LAUTECH students in the unfortunate incident.
