Tinubu Reflects: Our Mothers’ Sacrifices Remain Unparalleled....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

President Bola Tinubu commemorated Nigerian mothers on the 2024 Mother’s Day, praising their unparalleled sacrifices for both individual families and the nation in a statement he personally penned.

He hailed mothers as the architects of life, nurturers of progress, and champions of achievements, underscoring their pivotal role in steering their children towards their destinies.

Tinubu stated, “I celebrate our mothers, the source of life, on this special occasion of Mother’s Day. This day serves as a reminder of the invaluable gifts and blessings our mothers embody. As the architects of life, nurturers of our development, and champions of our accomplishments, they illuminate our paths, provide solace, offer guidance, and ensure we reach the thresholds of our destinies.”

He continued, “The sacrifices made by our mothers are simply unparalleled – whether for individual families or the nation at large. I extend my heartfelt salutations to all mothers and women in Nigeria and across the globe on this significant day. Happy Mother’s Day.”

Additionally, Tinubu directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to halt the implementation of the contentious cybersecurity levy policy and ordered a thorough reassessment. This directive follows the House of Representatives’ call for the CBN to retract its directive mandating banks to levy a 0.5 per cent cybersecurity fee on electronic transactions, a move prompted by the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) (Amendment) Act 2024.

Sources familiar with Tinubu’s stance on the matter informed Punch that the President is not inclined to exacerbate the financial burden on citizens by introducing additional levies.
