Reported by BUSHEADIOGIST, the two lawmakers from Abia, who were formerly affiliated with the Young Progressives Party (YPP), made the switch to the Labour Party. Mr. Iheanacho Nwogu, representing Osisioma North State Constituency, and Mr. Fine Ahuama, representing Osisioma South State Constituency, were officially welcomed into the state’s ruling party by Governor Alex Otti.

In response, Aisha Yesufu, a prominent figure within the Labour Party and a dedicated supporter of the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, expressed her disapproval of the lawmakers’ actions. Taking to her official platform, she remarked, “Hope they are ready to also lose their seats. This nonsense where people are voted on a party ticket and then decamp to join the ruling party needs to be punished by the law. You should have the right to decamp, but you must forfeit the seat you won on another platform.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Nigerian Army has confirmed the dismissal of two soldiers implicated in an alleged theft of armoured cables from the premises of Dangote Refinery, as reported by Daily Post.
