The project, aimed at electrifying five local government areas in the oil-producing belt of the state, is a significant endeavor. It encompasses various components, including a 45km 132kV feeder line from the Omotosho Power Plant to Erinje, two 60 MVA, 132/33kV transformers at the Erinje substation, rehabilitation of 33km of 33/11kV transmission lines from Okitipupa to Igbokoda, Ugbonla, and other Ilaje neighboring communities, and construction of a 1km rigid pavement with drainage.

The Erinje power substation is strategically designed to cater to the electricity needs of the identified local government areas, which have endured a lack of electricity for the past 15 years. This project is anticipated to be a crucial step towards restoring electricity and hope to these communities.

Hon. Atikase expressed confidence that the socio-economic activities in the region would experience a significant boost once the communities are connected to the power grid. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in safeguarding this critical infrastructure against vandalism, emphasizing the shared responsibility for security.
