BREAKING: Former President Jonathan Issues Statement On Rivers State Crisis Involving Fubara And Wike....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and his predecessor, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, to de-escalate the ongoing political tensions in Rivers State.

Jonathan and his delegation arrived at Port Harcourt International Airport around 11 a.m. to inaugurate a road construction project. This legacy initiative aims to connect the city with several coastal Ijaw communities in the state.

Observers interpret the invitation as a strategic move by Fubara and his team to solidify their alliances amidst the political crisis.

During the inauguration of the N222.1 billion Trans-Kalabari Road construction, Jonathan emphasized the importance of collaboration between Fubara and Wike for the development and prosperity of Rivers State.

“The political tension in the state is excessive and will not aid its development,” Jonathan remarked. He stressed that outgoing and incoming governors must work together for the collective interest of the state. “In the case of Rivers, Honourable Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Sim Fubara must work together to develop the lands and people of Rivers State. The tension will not help.”

Jonathan warned that destabilizing Rivers would negatively affect the entire Niger Delta region and could have nationwide repercussions. “Rivers State is very critical in this country. Rivers State is the heart of the Niger Delta. If Rivers State is destabilized, the whole country will be destabilized,” he told the gathering.

Previously, Jonathan was not widely seen as an ally of Wike and his political faction. However, Governor Fubara has been building relationships with various political figures, aiming to strengthen his new political group.
