Woman Dies After Being Mauled By Her Two XL Bully Dogs

In Havering, east London, a tragic incident unfolded on Monday, May 20, when a woman was fatally mauled by her two XL Bullies at her residence on Cornwall Close, Hornchurch.

Emergency services rushed to the scene around 1:10 PM, but despite their efforts, they could not save the victim, a woman in her 50s, who was pronounced dead upon their arrival. Her identity has not been disclosed.

The attack occurred within the confines of the family home, where the dogs were later contained in a room before Metropolitan Police officers intervened.

The officers managed to safely seize the two XL Bullies, though their fate remains uncertain.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Police responded to Cornwall Close following reports of a dog attack on a woman. Despite medical attention from the London Ambulance Service, she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.”

“Due to the perceived threat, armed officers were dispatched. Upon assessment, the dogs, identified as XL Bullies, were secured inside the residence and did not pose further danger. The family of the deceased, who owned the dogs, is receiving support from law enforcement.”

The XL Bully breed was banned in the UK at the start of 2024 following a series of fatal incidents
