The coalition lauded President Tinubu’s progressive policies and support for vulnerable groups, including People Living with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens. They also expressed gratitude to Senator Remi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, for her steadfast support to the President and her recent agricultural assistance to women, youths, and PWDs nationwide.

During a press conference at Arewa House, the Coalition’s Chairman, Comrade Aliyu Muhammad Sani, highlighted their objective of endorsing Halimat Adenike Tejuosho for the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. They emphasized her long-standing commitment to humanitarian causes through her Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation (QATFoundation), where she has used personal resources to aid senior citizens, PWDs, and the less privileged.

Citing her recent charitable activities, including distributing school supplies to needy children and providing Ramadan and Sallah packages to hundreds of households, the coalition urged President Tinubu to fill the vacant ministerial position with Dame Halimat Adenike Tejuosho. They asserted that her appointment would align with the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in poverty alleviation efforts.

Addressing concerns about her regional origin, the coalition clarified that Halimat Adenike Tejuosho’s maternal heritage hails from Delta State, making her a bona fide South South representative despite her father’s Lagosian roots. They urged the President to prioritize competence and merit over regional considerations in ministerial appointments.

Moreover, the coalition highlighted the significant support provided by the PWD community in Nigeria during the President’s election and implored him to fulfill their wish by appointing one of their own to the vacant ministerial position. They stressed the urgency of the appointment, considering the prolonged vacancy in the Ministry and its implications for effective governance.
