The Delta State Police Command has launched a manhunt for Sankey Ovemureye, accused of murdering his six-year-old daughter, Abigail Stanley. SP Edafe Bright, spokesperson for the command, disclosed that the incident occurred on Saturday and was reported by the suspect’s brother. According to Bright, officers dispatched to Uviama New Layout in Agbarho Ughelli North LGA recovered the child’s body, which had sustained severe head injuries from being repeatedly smashed against a wall. The father, identified as the prime suspect, is currently on the run.

In related news, Delta’s Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered an intensive search for the suspect, pledging to ensure justice is served. Abaniwonda urged anyone with information on Ovemureye’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
