Activist Deji Adeyanju, in a recent tweet, mocked supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) moments after the international media platform Spectator Index reported that Nigeria’s inflation had reached 33.95% in May, the highest in more than two decades.

“Hunger will soon finish all the people who stood by Tinubu’s mandate during the election, but we will just thrive like never before by the grace of God,” the lawyer stated.

Spectator Index, via their official X handle, stated: “Nigeria reports annual inflation of 33.95% in May, the highest in 28 years.”

Although some Nigerians have opposed the claims of Spectator Index, asserting that the current inflation rate is actually in triple figures, the reported rate remains a point of significant concern.
