In the run-up to the elections, three prominent figures from the PDP – Obi, Atiku, and Kwankwaso – were consistently advised to either consolidate their efforts or risk dilution of their individual influence. Rather than heeding this advice, the PDP saw a division, splitting into three separate factions: NNPP, PDP, and LP. Each faction had its own torchbearer – Kwankwaso, Atiku, and Obi respectively, challenging an incumbent president from the APC, a formidable party with over a decade of amalgamation from multiple political factions. Given these circumstances, one has to wonder: were they really expecting a victory at the polls?
Adding another layer of complexity to the situation, numerous PDP stalwarts seemed to break rank, choosing to side with President Tinubu instead of maintaining party loyalty. CONTINUE READING
Reacting to the PEPC judgement, Davido didn’t hold back his sentiments. In a tweet, he pointedly reminded their supporters, “A divided house cannot stand …… everybody long throat .. well.” He went on to add, “Nigeria Election nah by who rugged pass.”
He cheekily concluded his series of tweets with, “Enjoy your weekend.”
