Abdul Abiola Claims Kola Abiola Unworthy Of Presidency, Unable To Preserve Father’s Legacy

Abdul, the son of the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO Abiola), expressed his views on his elder brother, Kola, stating that Kola is not fit to lead Nigeria. Speaking on the Mic On podcast show, Abdul criticized Kola for failing to properly manage their father’s empire.

Kola had contested for the presidency under the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in 2023, but Abdul lamented that Kola has not been able to uphold Abiola’s political legacy or foster unity within the family.

Abdul emphasized, “MKO Abiola’s legacy could have been preserved better if Kola had been more capable. He could have been a voice for democratic values, but he chose otherwise. During our father’s imprisonment, he was occupied with other matters. It’s unfortunate, but I’m somewhat relieved our father didn’t witness what his eldest son has become.”

Expressing dissatisfaction with Kola’s performance, Abdul noted that many Nigerians share his sentiment, as evidenced by the lack of support Kola received during his presidential campaign. He questioned Kola’s ability to manage Nigeria when he couldn’t handle Abiola’s business empire, attributing this dilemma to a broader issue in Nigeria where individuals seek higher positions without demonstrating competence in their current roles.
