Abia Govt Otti Warns Parents: Non-Enrolment Of Children In School Is Now  A Criminal Offense

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has announced the criminalization of non-enrollment of school-age children in the state, with penalties for parents and guardians who fail to comply.

This policy, declared during the 2024 Children’s Day celebration, will be supported by legislation from the Abia State House of Assembly. Additionally, scholarships will be provided for financially disadvantaged children, ensuring education for all.

The governor also abolished levies for special books by students of the school for the blind and donated a bus to them, expressing empathy for children with special needs.
