In case JP/REC/52/2023, petitioner Samuel Expo has accused the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, former Chairman of Obingwa LGA, Mrs. Uloma Nwogu, Eze Adolphus Abakwe, and the traditional prime minister of Itungwa autonomous community, Samuel Ekpo, of using 300 hectares of land allocated for Itungwa/Itukpa community primary school in Obingwa for unauthorized structures.

The petition references the former Executive Chairman of Obingwa who purportedly informed them about Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s intention to use part of the land for an automobile engineering workshop.

The panel also cross-examined another petition by Prince Goodwin Egbesie against the Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, raising concerns about illegal high-level fraud, unauthorized sand dredging, and impersonation in Ahuwa Oboro, Ikwuano LGA, leading to damage to farmlands and roads due to illicit sand dredging.

In a separate case, the panel reviewed a petition submitted by Onyebuchi Nwankpa, a spokesperson for the Abia State Ministry of Trade and Investment, against Mr. Henry Nwaejike, the GM of Methodological Complex Nig Ltd.

The petition alleges the theft of government properties from a warehouse in Aba and the failure to remit funds to the government treasury.
