The demonstration began with a march from the Federal Secretariat toward the National Assembly gate.

Although the Senate has issued clarifications denying any confusion, the demonstrators insist that the legislation must explicitly include the phrase “real-time electronic transmission.”

At the time of reporting, Naija News confirmed a strong security presence at the protest site, with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps deployed to maintain order.

Some protesters told Channels Television that they had no intention of entering the National Assembly, emphasizing that the protest would mainly be conducted at the gate.

In a statement issued Sunday, NLC President Joe Ajaero said the Senate’s actions could undermine public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process and democracy.
