The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended four notorious kidnappers who have been terrorizing Abuja and its surrounding areas…….CONTINUE READING 

According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the kidnappers were arrested on October 1, 2024, following credible intelligence. The arrested individuals, identified as Yau Sani (aka Baba, an ex-convict), Nuhu (aka Giwa), Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan, were found hiding in Sauka, Abuja.

The suspects confessed to being behind a series of kidnappings targeting residents in the FCT and its environs. They also revealed plans to attack government institutions and estates within the FCT, which were thwarted by the police.

The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating crime and urged the public to report suspicious activities using the emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653.

The statement further disclosed that the gang had carried out attacks in areas such as Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village Zuma Rock, Kuchiko Village, as well as parts of Niger and Kaduna states. In a raid on another hideout in Gauraka Forest, Suleja, Niger State, police recovered four AK-47 rifles, 13 magazines, and 162 rounds of live ammunition.

Thanks to proactive efforts by the police, the suspects’ plans to attack additional targets in Abuja were prevented.
