Abuja VIO Confirms Killing Of Staff By  One Chance Operators

The Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), FCT, has confirmed the tragic death of its personnel, Prisca Chikodi, who fell victim to “one chance” operators in Abuja.

According to Mr. Kalu Emetu, the Head of Public Relations and Enlightenment at the service, the incident occurred on June 21 around 6:45pm. Chikodi had boarded a vehicle at Area 1 bus stop, intending to travel to Gwagwalada after being dropped off by her boss.

“It turned out that the occupants of the vehicle were criminals, commonly known as ‘one chance’ operators,” Emetu explained. “Unfortunately, she did not survive to recount what happened during the journey.”

Emetu disclosed that Chikodi’s body was discovered at approximately 12:45am on June 22, at Shetima Mogonu Street, behind Berger in Utako. He noted, “Her appearance at the time of discovery did not indicate any signs of gunshot wounds, stabbing, or strangulation. She appeared peaceful, as if in a natural sleep.”

He further expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the Directorate, highlighting Chikodi’s outstanding qualities as a diligent and respectful officer. Until her untimely death, she served as the personal assistant to the Deputy Director of Human Resources at the Directorate.

The Directorate mourns her loss profoundly, reflecting on her dedicated service and promising career.
