In a statement issued on Monday and signed by Abure and the faction’s National Secretary, Alhaji Farouk Ibrahim, the party warned the public against engaging with Comrade Anslem Eragbe, who is no longer recognized as the Youth Leader.

The statement emphasized that Eragbe’s tenure as National Youth Leader had officially ended in 2023. It read: “The attention of the Labour Party has been drawn to recent publications that erroneously referred to Comrade Anslem Eragbe as the National Youth Leader of the party. We hereby inform the public that Comrade Eragbe ceased to hold the position in 2023.”

The Labour Party further warned the public not to engage with Eragbe as the official Youth Leader, stating: “Labour Party will not accept any responsibility for dealings with Mr. Anslem Eragbe on behalf of the party.”

Additionally, the statement introduced Prince Kennedy Ahanotu as the legitimate National Youth Leader and advised that all matters concerning the youth wing of the party be directed to him. It concluded: “We respectfully request that you engage with Prince Kennedy Ahanotu on all issues related to our party’s youth affairs.
