AC Milan Set To Extend Pulisic And Rabiot Contracts In Major Squad Move
AC Milan are reportedly preparing to activate contract extension options for Christian Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot, giving the club additional time to negotiate longer-term agreements with both players.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the Rossoneri are not currently alarmed by the lack of progress over a new contract for Pulisic, whose existing agreement is due to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season.
Although reports have previously suggested that Milan could offer the United States international a long-term deal that would keep him at the club until 2031, negotiations with his representatives have yet to formally begin.
Pulisic already has an extension option included in his current agreement, which Milan can reportedly activate to keep him under contract until June 2028. According to Calciomercato reporter Daniele Longo, the clause was included when the winger joined the Italian club from Chelsea in 2023.
Pulisic moved to Milan for a reported €20.3 million plus bonuses and has since established himself as an important member of the squad. Activating the existing option would allow Milan to secure his services for another season while giving the club more time to discuss a longer-term arrangement.
Rabiot is in a similar situation. The France international’s current contract is also scheduled to expire in June 2027, but Milan have an option to extend the agreement for another year.
The club is reportedly expected to activate that option, which would keep Rabiot at San Siro until June 2028.
Rabiot joined Milan last summer after leaving Olympique Marseille and initially signed a short-term contract. The midfielder has since become part of the club’s plans, prompting Milan to take steps to extend his stay.
The activation of both options would give Milan greater flexibility as the club continues discussions over the players’ long-term futures. Rather than immediately reaching new multi-year agreements, the extensions would provide additional security while allowing negotiations to continue.
For Pulisic, the move would also ensure that Milan retain control of his contractual situation beyond the current campaign, while Rabiot’s extension would similarly provide the club with additional time to determine the midfielder’s longer-term future.
