AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen are finalising the paperwork after reaching a verbal agreement for Victor Boniface. The deal is a loan with an optional €30 million buy clause. Milan are now in direct talks with Boniface’s agent to settle personal terms, which is the final key step,” Romano revealed on .
The 24-year-old striker has already approved the switch, having accepted Milan’s contract proposal. Romano added that negotiations are still ongoing to iron out finer details of the agreement.
“Milan have received the green light from Victor, who said yes to their contract offer. Talks continue today to finalise the structure of the deal,” he noted.
The development comes as a surprise twist, given that Milan were previously linked with moves for Rasmus Højlund and Dusan Vlahovic. However, behind the scenes, the Rossoneri have been quietly pushing to secure Boniface’s services.
According to Sky Italia, optimism is growing within the Milan camp that the transfer will be sealed swiftly, while German journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Leverkusen are “leaning towards yes,” largely influenced by the Nigerian’s strong desire to test himself in Serie A.
Boniface impressed last season in Germany, scoring 11 Bundesliga goals under Xabi Alonso as Leverkusen’s title defence faltered.
Seen as the perfect spearhead for Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan project, the Nigerian international could soon be unveiled in the iconic red and black stripes. If completed, the deal would mark a major statement in Milan’s summer transfer strategy.
