In a recently circulated video online, actor Kunle Afod and veteran actor Peter Fatomilola paid a visit to Oyewo at his residence to inquire about his well-being.

Addressing his guests in Yoruba, Oyewo recounted his ordeal, mentioning his initial struggles with urination dating back to July 2019, which led to the diagnosis of prostate enlargement.

Detailing the surgical intervention he underwent to manage the condition, Oyewo disclosed that one of the procedures resulted in the loss of his sexual function.

During the candid conversation with his visitors, Oyewo expressed, “I battled with an enlarged prostate, but I am feeling better now. In 2019, I noticed difficulties with urination, prompting a hospital visit where I was informed about the enlargement issue and the necessity for surgery.”

He continued, “Following the surgery, which involved an abdominal incision to aid urination, I consented to another procedure that would impact my sexual abilities. Given my circumstances and family dynamics, I agreed to the operation as my offspring were independent with their own families.”

Kola Oyewo, whose acting career spans several decades since joining the Oyin Adejobi theatre group in 1964, is currently engaged as a performing arts lecturer at Elizade University in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State.
