Actress Defends Bold Funeral Outfit Amid Backlash, Explains Personal Reasoning

Queen Wokoma, a Nollywood actress, faced heavy criticism after she was photographed wearing a short dress at the burial of her colleague, Junior Pope, according to Naija News.

Wokoma shared pictures from the funeral, where she was seen donning a black short dress paired with see-through black leggings. However, netizens flooded the comment section with disapproval, arguing that such attire was inappropriate for a funeral, especially considering the tragic circumstances of Junior Pope’s passing.

In response to the backlash, Wokoma defended her choice of attire by sharing images illustrating what she believed to be suitable funeral attire, along with examples of foreign actors’ outfits for such occasions. Additionally, she lashed out at her critics, using strong language to express her frustration.

“Some of you are obviously STU*ID hence wisdom is far from you. Forming fashion guru yet una never travel comot from una local government. Oh I forgot, I am supposed to tie wrapper or look miserable to soothe your empty brains,” Wokoma wrote in her response.

Junior Pope’s funeral proceedings commenced with a candlelight procession before culminating in the burial ceremony on Friday, May 17, 2024, in his hometown of Ukehe, located in Nsukka, Igboetiti LGA of Enugu state.
