ADC Just Old Faces In New Bottles – APC Boasts It Can’t Beat Them In Sokoto
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a recycled political alliance incapable of challenging the ruling party’s dominance in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The APC maintained that no matter the platform the ADC operates under, it will fail to wrest power from the party in future elections, predicting a decisive victory for the ruling party.
Sokoto APC Chairman, Isah Sadik Achida, made the remarks on Thursday during an inclusive stakeholders’ meeting of party members and leaders held in Tambuwal Local Government Area. The meeting, organised by the Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto Youths Contact, Mobilisation, and Enlightenment Ambassadors, aimed to strengthen the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Achida described the individuals regrouping under the ADC as familiar political actors who had previously failed to deliver meaningful results for the people of Sokoto State, saying they had long exhausted their political relevance.
He stressed that the APC remains united and well-positioned to retain power in the state, warning that no rebranded opposition alliance could undermine the party’s growing support.
“We all know them. They failed to deliver after eight years. They have nothing new to offer except to further harm the state,” he said.
He added, “I leave it for the people of Sokoto to judge with complete honesty,” noting that Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto had, for the first time in the state’s political history, surpassed the achievements of his predecessor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, even within his home local government.
Achida credited the current administration with prioritising infrastructure and basic services, highlighting the visionary leadership of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
“The current APC governor has delivered significantly to the local government under the guidance of Senator Wamakko, providing essential infrastructure and facilities for the benefit of the people. He has given the area due attention in terms of appointments and governance,” he said.
The chairman urged party members to remain united and committed, stressing that the APC understands how to manage its structure and maintain its resilience ahead of future elections.
Speaking on behalf of Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal, APC stalwart and Chief of Staff to the governor, Aminu Dikko Tambuwal, noted that the town had experienced significant development across multiple sectors since the start of the current administration. He praised the youth and women wings of the party for their dedication, describing their unity and perseverance as essential to the APC’s success in the region.
Tambuwal also lauded Senator Wamakko as a unifying figure and political pillar whose strategic guidance produced a resilient governor in Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
“We are proud of the quality of governance in Sokoto State today. The people of Tambuwal Local Government have every reason to appreciate the governor for identifying with us and driving development across various sectors. This marks a clear departure from our previous experience under a former leader who completed his tenure without tangible impact,” he said.
He further highlighted empowerment and development initiatives that have enabled many residents to become self-reliant through various trades and programs.
