Adekunle Gold Reveals Shocking Moment AT&T Warning Nearly Landed Him In Trouble

Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has recounted an experience he had while living in the United States, revealing how his attempt to watch a television show through an unauthorised streaming platform nearly landed him in serious trouble.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the singer shared the experience during an interview on the 90’s Baby Podcast, where he explained that he had been watching a show he enjoyed through a bootleg website when he received a warning from telecommunications company AT&T.

Adekunle Gold said the warning was delivered through both an email and a physical letter. According to the singer, AT&T informed him that his internet activity had been detected and that he had violated its rules by accessing the unauthorised streaming platform.

He explained that the company treated the incident as his first offence and warned him against repeating the activity.

The singer said the warning immediately changed his attitude towards using such websites, particularly after realising that his online activities could be monitored.

Recounting the incident, Adekunle Gold said he initially thought he could watch the programme without consequences but became concerned after receiving the communication from AT&T.

“I almost got arrested in America when I was using a bootleg site to watch a show I liked. Then I received an email and a letter from AT&T saying, ‘This is your first warning.’ They were tracking it, so I quickly stopped watching,” he recalled.
