Governor Adeleke, addressing party stakeholders and high-ranking state government officials, emphasized the importance of adherence to public service regulations. He urged political appointees to serve as exemplary representatives of the party, emphasizing the PDP’s commitment to law, order, due process, and the rule of law.
The governor reminded appointees of their rights and responsibilities, particularly highlighting the separation of functions between board members and agency management. He stressed that board members should refrain from involvement in day-to-day operations but focus on supervisory roles in accordance with established policies and relevant laws.
Expressing his administration’s dedication to combating corruption and preventing abuse of office, Governor Adeleke warned that severe sanctions would be imposed on those found violating state laws. He underscored the administration’s commitment to serving the people and cautioned against any self-serving conduct by appointees.
Governor Adeleke recalled the challenges inherited from the previous government, noting that his administration had implemented various strategies to address the issues. The warning follows the intervention of the state government in a dispute between the Governing Council Chairman of the Osun State College of Education, Peter Babalola, and the College Provost, Prof Jimoh Afolabi. A three-man committee has been appointed by the state government to investigate the disagreement and propose a resolution.
