Adeleke’s Re-election Bid Boosted By Strong Support From Former Governor

The gathering included prayer sessions for the governor, his administration, and the state, with attendees calling for continued good governance from 2026 to 2030.

Both Muslim and Christian leaders praised the governor’s accomplishments. Sheikh Musa Animasahun, President of the League of Imams and Alfas, declared that Governor Adeleke was divinely destined for a second term because of his service delivery.

Labour unions, led by Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Chairman Comrade Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo, also voiced their support, lauding the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare.

Market leaders, represented by Iyaloja General Chief Oyebode Mary, commended his business-friendly initiatives.

Former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola reiterated his backing, likening Adeleke’s leadership to effective medicine that should not be altered.

In Yoruba, Oyinlola stated, “The governor’s approach is working for the people of Osun, and therefore he must continue for a second term.”

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, led special prayers for Adeleke, praising his commitment to governance and his consultative leadership style.

“Only a pure heart dances. Where it dances, good things follow. Great things are happening in Osun, and we all celebrate,” said the Onirisa.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor’s spokesperson, shared a statement in which Governor Adeleke expressed his gratitude to both God and the people. He emphasized that his administration’s policies, centered on divine guidance and prioritizing the people’s welfare, would continue in the coming years.

The governor stated, “Our prayers were answered by Almighty God, and at every step, our government has always put God and the people first.”
