Adeyanju Takes On FPRO Adejobi: Vows Legal Battle Over Alleged Intimidation

Human rights advocate Deji Adeyanju has announced plans to sue Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi over alleged abuse of power, intimidation, and suppression of free speech.

Adeyanju accused Adejobi of unlawfully detaining police critics and misusing his position to silence dissent. In a viral video on Wednesday, the activist warned that Adejobi’s actions threaten Nigeria’s democratic principles and civic freedoms.

He alleged that the FPRO had turned his office into a tool of oppression rather than its intended role in public relations.

“Nigerians need to know who Muyiwa Adejobi really is. He believes his job as Police PRO is about monitoring the internet and arresting critics instead of promoting transparency,” Adeyanju stated.

He further alleged that Adejobi ordered the arrest of one of his legal firm’s clients over a social media post about the abduction of Hakeem Odumosu’s wife in Ogun State on January 16. The client has reportedly been in custody for 10 days under Adejobi’s orders, with his parents humiliated when they sought his release.

Expressing outrage, Adeyanju said, “Who does he think he is? Is this what policing should be about? He is turning the Force PRO’s office into a battleground.”

The activist vowed to take decisive legal action against Adejobi to set a precedent against intimidation and ensure accountability within the police force.
