Les Elephants narrowly defeated Jose Peseiro’s squad 2-1 in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday night, securing their third AFCON title.
“We observed that the Nigerian players seemed fatigued in the first half. They were not performing at their usual level,” Fae stated after the match.
“I instructed my players during halftime that we needed to elevate the intensity of our game, and it proved successful for us.
“Although it was a challenging match, the positive outcome is that we emerged victorious in the end.”
