Following Nigeria’s 2-1 defeat to Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday, Iwobi faced criticism, leading him to delete all the pictures from his official Instagram page by Monday.

Iwobi’s role in the loss drew ire from fans, but Musa implored supporters to cease cyberbullying, emphasizing that it violates decency and constitutes a serious offense.
“It’s hypocritical to preach unity through football while engaging in such conduct,” Musa expressed on X.
“While losing a game is undeniably challenging, singling out a player for the team’s setbacks is unjust. We win and lose as a team. Alex, like every member of our squad, gave his all on the field.
“Rather than perpetuate negativity, let’s demonstrate genuine love and support to our players. They require our encouragement now more than ever. Let’s uplift one another and remain united, regardless of outcomes.”
