Troost-Ekong showcased his prowess by netting three goals during the tournament, leading Nigeria to a commendable second-place finish at AFCON.
Ronwen Williams, the goalkeeper from South Africa, earned recognition as the Goalkeeper of the tournament for his exceptional performances that propelled the Bafana Bafana to a third-place finish.
Emilo Nsue of Equatorial Guinea, who impressively bagged five goals starting from the group stage, was honored with the Golden Boot award.
Emerse Fae, the coach of Cote D’Ivoire, was awarded Coach of the tournament for guiding his team to AFCON triumph.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana secured the Fair Play award.

Hosts Ivory Coast claimed the trophy after overcoming early hurdles in the campaign. They orchestrated a remarkable comeback to defeat Nigeria 2-1 in the final, with Franck Kessie and Haller finding the net for the victorious team, while William Troost-Ekong contributed to Nigeria’s score.
AFCON 2023 Runners-up:
Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured the second spot. Despite taking the lead in the first half, Nigeria faced challenges in ball possession and withstood Ivory Coast’s persistent attacks.
