Maria stated, “Regarding the way forward, whether Comfort will choose to let sleeping dogs lie is entirely her decision. She is an adult and will let us know if she intends to pursue civil charges for compensation. At the moment, we cannot speak for her — she will get back to us. Public outrage intensified over claims that Emmanson suffered indecent exposure during the scuffle with ground staff at Lagos airport. Maria accused airline personnel of recording the incident and leaking the video online, describing the act as highly unethical.

Following her arrest at the airport, Emmanson was arraigned in court and sent to prison the same day — a rapid prosecution that sparked accusations of selective justice. Many compared her case to that of Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde (Kwam 1), who allegedly tried to block a moving ValueJet aircraft in Abuja on August 5, 2025, but faced no charges.

On August 13, 2025, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo ordered the withdrawal of all charges against Emmanson, leading to her release. He also instructed airline operators to reverse the lifetime flying ban imposed on her.
