Bago, in the aftermath of a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressed concerns about the escalating insecurity in Niger State.
He broached the idea of engaging in dialogue with the armed groups to mitigate the crisis. He emphasized the desire to avoid major military interventions while maintaining the state’s economic activities.
Aisha Yesufu, however, shared a contrasting perspective. She voiced her opinion on Twitter, asserting that any dialogue must stem from a position of strength.
She advocated for first subduing the terrorists before considering negotiations. In her view, initiating dialogue from a position of dominance would be more effective in ensuring lasting results.
