The latest group of defectors, led by Dr. Akinsola Jimoh, was officially welcomed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at Igbotako in Okitipupa Local Government Area on Sunday. Represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, the governor promised full recognition and support to the new members. He expressed confidence that their addition would enhance the party’s strength in the state.
Aiyedatiwa urged voters to support the APC in the upcoming election, emphasizing that it would validate his administration’s accomplishments. He praised Dr. Akinsola Jimoh as a distinguished grassroots leader and highlighted the voluntary nature of the defections as a sign of the APC’s appeal.
Dr. Akinsola Jimoh, the leader of the defectors, explained that the decision to join the APC was made after thorough consultations. He expressed admiration for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and committed to working towards the APC’s success in the governorship race.
