Akpoti-Uduaghan had alleged that Akpabio sexually harassed her and subsequently blocked her motion after she rejected his advances.

In response, NANS urged Tinubu to step in before the situation worsens and brings international embarrassment to Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and signed by its National Vice President, Akinbodunse Sileola Felicia, the association emphasized the need for peace and urged both parties to de-escalate tensions.

Akinbodunse highlighted that the National Assembly is a crucial arm of government that should be led by principled and exemplary individuals. She warned that allowing the dispute, particularly the sexual harassment allegation, to linger could tarnish Nigeria’s image globally.

She called on Akpabio to uphold the dignity of his office and extend an olive branch to Akpoti-Uduaghan while urging the female senator to prioritize peace for the nation’s sake.
